Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Earlier this week from the minor league fields at Fort Myers. '87 and '91 rings on. Does not ring a bell. At all. Does anyone know who this gentleman is? Thanks.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Is that Krivsky? No. Krivsky is younger.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Nick Nelson? I don't think that he was born by '87

That's him.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Closer to a profile view:http://stmedia.startribune.com/images/630*354/ubas0508rantz.jpg Sorry, link only, won't post. Looks even more like him.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Thank you. That's him. NP. Might have made the connection sooner but he's sporting a more modern 'do. Looks like retirement didn't last very long. Not that they've officially brought him back, but I'll go out on a limb and guess that they're still as interested in what he has to say as he is in how his prospects turn out.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 So with Rantz still around, how do we expect this guy (and I am not talking about Rasmussen) to do his job?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 So with Rantz still around, how do we expect this guy (and I am not talking about Rasmussen) to do his job?Yeah, there's a fine line between drawing on the predecessor's corporate knowledge and making the new guy feel like he's on probation the first year.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Didn't Steil take over minor leagues in 2012?
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 who is the guy with Rasmussen? That's not Brad Steil. And, Steil can do his job just fine. Tom Kelly is always around and it doesn't effect Gardy.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 who is the guy with Rasmussen? That's not Brad Steil. I thought it was Steil. My bad. Anyone has any idea who that is?
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I thought it was Steil. My bad. Anyone has any idea who that is? You and I were on the same page Thrylos as far as who the guy in the picture is. I'm not sure how the system works with Steil and Rantz, but the Twins' minor league system has been producing really well over the last few years. Whatever works.
