Spring Training Game 9: Twins @ Pirates at 12:05pm (CT)

[Squirrel]

There is also a 'B' game this morning, also up in Bradenton, but this is for the regular Grapefruit League game. Correia is pitching in the 'B' game (followed by Meyer and Pino).

Twins:

Presley, CF

Dozier, 2B

Mauer, 1B

Willingham, DH

Plouffe, 3B

Ramirez, RF

Mastroianni, LF

Suzuki, C

Bartlett, SS

Worley, SP (then Gibson, Gilmartin, Hoffman, Johnson and Pressly)

Pirates:

Marte, LF

Martin, C

McCutchen, CF

Alvarez, 3B

Walker, 2B

Snider, DH

Mercer, SS

Lambo, 1B

Decker, RF

Rodriguez, SP

I'd say 'And let the chatter begin' except it's just way too early for that; at least for me. If there are any tweaks to either team's lineups, I'll edit closer to game time.

Worley threw 47 pitches, 26 strikes, fell behind 1-0 to half the 12 batters he faced. #mntwins

  • Rhett Bollinger ‏@RhettBollinger 6m
Worley gives up a two-run homer to McCutchen and that's it for him after 1 1/3 IP. #MNTwins down 5-0.

Sigh.

Well, Miller did have a near death experience this morning:

• Rhett Bollinger ‏@RhettBollinger 3h
Nothing like watching @MillerStrib almost get hit by foul ball in the B game. Gardy told him he can't criticize his team for errors anymore.

  • Phil Miller ‏@MillerStrib 3h
Nearly killed by foul pop that tailed as I ducked. Missed by inches. Gardy: "I don't ever want you to criticize our players for an error."

Nice rally and win for the good guys today.
