nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 This Maloney balony is done after tonight I hope. Liriano takes his place in the pen. ?Diamond? gets a rotation spot? What does it matter really, just start throwing guys out there and see if someone sticks.
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Can we just forfeit this game in the interest of preserving the Twins bullpen and my sanity?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 When you reach the bottom there is nowhere to go but up............this appears to be the bottom.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Hope they are booing Mauer since he's obviously the main problem with this team!!!They are booing Mauer, but I'm not sure it's really deserved this year. He hasn't been very clutch, but no one has been lately. He's playing everyday and has a .400 OBP.

Indefinately, I guess, as long as Terry Ryan is the GM and the Pohlads are content to raise ticket prices after losing 99 games.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Boston is a bunch of punks. They blew a 9-0 lead against the Yankees... Too bad we aren't the Yankees!!

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Dear Joe Mauer, For the love of cheerios, swing at the first pitch, grooved at 89 mph right down the meat of the plate, once in a while -- this will keep opposing pitcher's off balance in their pitching approach which helps your overall batting approach. Sincerely, Uninformed observer

You guys ever heard the phrase "Beating a dead horse"?.........you're doing it. On another note Gray was A O.K,......................looking for that silver lining.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Bottom 1st: Twins have the bases loaded, one run on the board, and only one out. In any other year beside last and this year, do you bet the opposing pitcher gets a quality start? Says everything about the offense really, and that's the bright part of this team. Still smiling!

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 On another note Gray was A O.K,......................looking for that silver lining.I am pleasantly surprised with Gray's performance thus far as well... not super impressed but impressed given the expectations. Genuinely
gil4 Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 On another note Gray was A O.K,......................looking for that silver lining.I've seen him pitch twice this year - 3.2 IP, 6 K, 0 BB, 2 H, looked great both times. The rest of the time - 5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 K, 7 BB. When they call to get him up, the next call needs to be to me to tune in to the game.
gil4 Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Burnett just walked Punto. In October I hope we look back at this as the low point of the season.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Of all starts, we've gotten a quality start only 16% of the time so far this season. That's one quality start every six games. Until you fix that, it doesn't matter so much what the offense does. Buy hey, at least we win at a hight % than we are getting quality starts, right!
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Mauer down 0-2 in the count... again. And then Ks. Yeeeehawww!
headcheese Provisional Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Mauer down 0-2 in the count... again. And then Ks. Yeeeehawww! i think in that situation he needs to be swinging the bat. but maybe he has bilateral heart weakness and doesnt really give a crap
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Good effort turning the 1-6-3 DP. Too bad we couldn't get it. Oh well, we tried super hard and that's what counts.
