Well, that's not quite how I see it. The Twins are building from within, and are being cheapos until the young core emerges. Which is frustrating, but somewhat understandable.

 

I understand your point, but the current regime has proved that they cannot do that either. In 2006 they had a young core of 7 pitchers (Baker, Blackburn, Bonser, Garza, Liriano, Perkins, Slowey - alphabetically) who thought that they will be the core of the Twins' rotation for at least the next 6-7 years. Here we are 7 years later and what became of this young core? A single closer. Major failure (and no accountability). And the Twins have been paying for it the past 3 seasons (and probably more, if things will not change.)

 

I just do not trust this group to build a balance team from within... And as for all the "priced" prospects in the organization: They still need 2-3 good starting arms. They do not have them, so building within is not much of an option...

I thought that, by carefully trimming to the "beating that drum" part, I made clear what I was referring to. You made your point in the first post, before the parenthetical comment, and it was OK; but don't be tedious about it going forward.
