McCarthy looks gooooood for the giants. Let him go for nothing

To be fair McCarthy was pretty much nothing here

I liked him as insurance.

We have 6 points at the half.

Not at all. This offense is awful. One of the worst in all of football. This is who they are.

The colts are bad though. Coming off a bye, this is a terrible half of football

It is. But it's how the offense had looked all year.

Very few teams want their insurance plan at QB to be a major distraction.

KOC ego made it one from what it sounded like

Maybe McCarthy turns into a super star right now. But if McCarthy just played acceptable, though not like a top tier QB, then the Vikings probably would have punted on the QB position again next year and we'd still be aiming for mediocrity.

There wasn’t any harm in keeping him here, except an ego or two didn’t want him around. He’s at least pressing the ball down the field unlike the guy we have under center now

KOC might have an ego problem. But McCarthy wasn't mature enough to count on. Maybe the light switched for him after hitting rock bottom in MN, but maybe not. From the look of it, he's willing to put touch on his passes now with the Giants. Why he refused to do that in Minnesota might always be a mystery, but it was certainly intentional.

The harm would be in him being OK but not great which would put the Vikings in position to punt on the QB spot again next year and roll with McCarthy.

I’m not sure I understand that logic though. Like what do they have now with Murray? Which guys will be available next offseason?

They'll likely need to draft one. Preferably one that has more experience. I guess there is the unlikely Burrow/Herbert trade option.

Either way, the worst spot to be in is stuck with an average to below average QB that is too good to move on from but not good enough to win you a championship.

KOC successfully drafting and developing a QB? Hahaha.

Right, at this point they need to be looking for one that requires much less development than the rookies they've been rostering so far under KOC.

BTW, Murray sucks.
