Which strawman is arguing that the Twins should lose on purpose to move up 3 spots in the draft?  I'm saying the Twins should think to the future, because there's nothing left to play for in 2026.  Most teams do this in September each and every year.  The league even encourages this by expanding rosters on Sept 1.  Maybe you weren't aware of this concept?

They play for self-respect at the minimum.  The Debbie Downer syndrome has become a cancer here.

Nothing says "winning organization" like holding back prospects so mediocre vets can pad their stats.

I don’t see any prospects being held back. Except for Rodriguez, they are ALL in the Twins lineup. I am fine with sitting Larnach to play Rodriguez. Benching Jeffers, Bell and Minter to play marginal players like Jackson, Gonzalez and Raya is dumb. Not everyone in the minor leagues is a prospect.

Raya and Gonzalez are firmly top 20 prospects in the organization, Raya has been good in a hitter's league lately and has MLB-caliber stuff and could be a part of next year's bullpen... and Minter has nothing to do with it. There is no downside to DFA'ing Rogers, a soon-to-be free agent with a 1.6 WHIP.

Jackson is not a prospect and I wouldn't consider the likes of Ben Ross to be either. Gonzalez's stock has fallen but he's going to be on the 40 man roster next year, and not considering Raya to be a prospect is a strange take.

Raya has an ERA below league average. Gonzalez was one of the worst hitters on the Saints. Neither of them seems ready for a promotion.

The Twins seem to want a bench full of players they don’t intend to play under any circumstances. They brought up Gonzalez and Ross because they don’t care if they play. I expect Martin to replace Gonzalez soon.
