Florimon is also a very good base runner. Excellent speed goes first to third, scores from second and pitches in a few steals. Pedro could hit 10-12 hrs, steal 20 bases and with his defense and arm he would easily be a top 10 shortstop. I think this happens soon.

So that sounds like his biggest comparable is Greg Gagne. He was a pretty good SS here for years. Gagne was good defensively hit .230-.250 with 8-12 HR and 10 SB consistantly.

Our middle infield has been the pleasant surprise of 2013, especially Florimon.

 

That he was plucked off waivers from the Orioles eases the sting of Hardy a certain degree as well.
