I somewhat agree. They don’t seem to be acting with as much urgency as I would like. It’s equal parts annoying and strange. It caused me to look up Rookie eligibility rules (not that that should matter). We’d have to keep our un-debuted players at AAA until around mid August to maintain their rookie status for 2027.

Sounds about right on when they would finally bring them up.  Still in front of the September 1st deadline in case they stumble into the playoffs, but with not enough time that they still get to keep a year of control.  I think that is a small issue that they want to work on in the new CBA.  Their original great idea of trying to reward teams by playing their rookies all year has not worked how they wanted it to pan out.  They need to give more incentive for teams like the Twins to actually bring them up when they are ready.

Baseball needs to fix itself this winter.

**** the union. Hard floor, hard cap, max revenue share. 50 percent to players. Every team need to fit in those parameters immediately.

Players object? Don't care. Take  it or leave it. There's more players. And there zero chance they don't take it anyway.

Well...lockout is looming...remember when football played with the scrubs..

Us fans will have nothing but time to debate this when the lockout happens… Both sides would be incredibly stupid to sacrifice a full season over this. I am optimistic a full 162 game season will happen in 2027.

Agree, we may lose a few games, but once checks start getting missed it will be amazing how fast they will get serious about an agreement.

They called up Gray, there are better options in St. Paul, that is not even arguable.

I said earlier bringing up Gray made no sense.

But the owners would have to fully open their books to show that players would get 50 percent. That will never happen

Such a baseball situation would be fascinating.  A redo of the original Saints.

Well when millionaires and billionaires get together to fight, anything can happen!

Sad but true. But I still can’t picture either side is stupid enough to stop the momentum the sport is gaining again. If the 2027 season is lost they’re going to lose a lot of fans whether that’s the die hard or casual or anywhere in between.

Their latest proposal took like twenty to thirty percent of revenue out of consideration as being revenue.... Maybe more. Unreal.

Who gives a ****?

Players take it or leave it. They'll make a ****ton.

MlBPA can go away, AFAIC. What do they do for me as a fan? We'd all be better off if MLB started 2027 with a completely new set of players.

I want a cap, a floor, universal revenue sharing at a minimum. Increase the compensation for players earlier in their career. I’m also good with decreasing years of control before a team has a decision to make.

It will be based on selected items that generate revenue, that is already one thing they are disagreeing about..  Wouldn't have to fully open the books for that.

You mean the grounds crew and popcorn vendors?

I was very disappointed the teams crossed the picket line earlier this year. And thousands of fans.

Maybe it is good for the game to have a lockout...to me.. makes it look bad as prices are high and many are hurting

Imagine a sport like NFL where it wasn’t league wide revenue sharing. The Green Bay Packers would have relocated 50 years ago.

And the NFLPA was neutered decades ago. How has that been bad for anyone?
