Tristan might hold the distinction of hitting a grand slam in the coldest temps in Twins' history. The "real feel" must've been close to freezing (if not below) during the night of the home opener. 

All in all, not a bad run for a guy who was considering retiring if he didn't make the team out of spring training. I wish him all the best.

At least they have finally committed to the best defensive shortstop available.  Lee can back up if Kreidler needs a day off.  The big question to be answered now is who starts in RF or will they platoon Keaschall and Roden.

I'm not sure what that means? :) But with 60 or so games left, I think it's quite possible that's a wrap on Gray's time with the Twins, barring injury of course. Hope he finds himself on a big league roster again. Fans are often so quick to hate/be negative (not necessarily on here), but TG provided a legitimate spark at times for the first two months of the season. Production dropped as of late, of course. Probably not a bad time to switch things up and give Roden a longer look and see if Kreidler can continue producing.

If we keep everyone at the deadline and actually upgrade our bullpen from makes me want to jump of a cliff to solid I think we can squeeze into a wild card spot but yet again I'm known for being a optimist.

And who is going to sit for Roden to play.  He has not done anything in just under 200 AB's to warrant moving people out of the lineup.  My fear is they are going to platoon him with Keaschall and that basically puts Keaschall on the bench.  Keaschall has been hitting since a slow April and this is how they would reward him, I am not sure what message that would send.

I am all for sending Gray down, but Roden is in a tough spot in that I don't know if there is time for him to show what he can do.  I do believe his ceiling is as a fourth outfielder.

The position switching of the infielders was eventually what got Gray demoted. As a left handed hitting four position infielder with two right handed hitters as regulars, he provided the platoon advantage on days to rest Lewis and Keaschall, but with the moves, he was asked to share time at his weakest defensive position and it didn't work out too well. The emergence of Kody Clemens as a superior defensive and offensive option at first and second base pretty much made Gray expendable.

I see Roden's role as giving just about any right handed hitter (and Bell) a day off against a right handed pitcher. That would include Buxton, Lewis, Keaschall as well as the switch hitting Lee and Bell.

Also, I don't think he has a lot of time to show that he belongs in the lineup in a R/L platoon before the Twins move on. Of course, injuries would change this situation pretty quickly. This also points out how buried Matt Wallner is. I hate to say it, but the best thing for Wallner looks like a trade.

Gray was left on this roster two months longer than he should have been.  Is defense important or not, if it is Kreidler should have been up here before Gray.  This organization places too much emphasis on the platoon splits, they need to focus on quality.  The philosophy has produced a .500 record in 10 years and one playoff win.  And has left us with players like Garlick and Margot.  At some point you need to do an internal review and see that something isn't working and change it up.  Which is why I want Zoll gone at the end of the year so this organization may actually get an objective review of what is working and what isn't.

Yeah they should do him a solid and trade him at the deadline. Austin Martin is also getting buried as the season goes on. 1 or both could be done by the deadline.

It is pretty clear that there has been said reviews and many changes this year. I would suggest one would struggle to come up with a year where so many changes have occurred. Your wish is already in motion. There are more changes coming too, but these things take time. It's not like changing the channel.
