Once again, Joe Ryan is looking like a legitimate ace to start the season. Once again, the Minnesota Twins have a decision to make - should they trade him or should they look to extend him?

Come on…there’s zero chance the Twins make an offer that convinces Ryan to not hit the open market after ‘27. Even a potential hard cap isn’t going to lower the market appreciably for front line starters….look at the premium positions in the NFL.

I guess there is one chance…if Ryan has a significant injury in 2026 which significantly impacts his availability or effectiveness. Kinda like Buxton getting close to free agency after a couple of years of basically not playing, and accepting the discounted Twins offer out of FOMO. Not something to hope for.
