MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Twins win and the farm does well too.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Landa is eating up the Appalachian league. That league must be terrible. All the Twins prospects destroy it whether they are pitchers or hitters. I don't really see the value in it anymore. The stats tell us nothing. Perhaps it is just another short season league for guys to develop in and nothing more than getting reps. That sucks to think of it that way.
kab21 Verified Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 22 teams have an affiliate in the NWL or the NYPL short season leagues and both are considered to be more advanced than the appy league (or the pioneer league). That is where the older prospects should go but the Twins don't have an affiliate. It's also a place that the Twins could push an elite prospect up to or have a young prospect (Kepler) go instead of repeating appy league.

Kind of wonder what it says about players that don't do well.

I'm not even talking about being good, just a replacement level player. I'm looking up guys now. Plouffe: .719 OPS at age 18 Can't find any other examples of guys that were sent there and struggled. A lot of guys skipped that level. I'd keep looking, but am past caring now.
