A guy like Tonkin they should really DFA. At his age he probably wants a chance to play on a playoff team, not closing for 4th place Twins team.

Keep him, DFA him - either way same difference.  He's not pitching in the playoffs this season.

Same could be said for Gasper but Rocco keeps him because he is a third catcher. Gasper wouldn't get claimed if Twins designated him. He's 29, a career minor league player, and can't hit MLB pitching. Rocco's pet. I think Funderburk could actually develop into a usable piece.

So if he’s not in the starting lineup tomorrow…..I guess we will know why.

But players that don’t hustle or run out ground balls aren’t benched, so Cody should damn well be starting….. in fact every game from here on out
