Article: The Art Of Choosing A Walkout Song

Does anyone know the name of the song that Brian Dozier used when he was with the Fort Myers Miracle? When I lived in Atlanta, I remember that Bobby Bonila used "Bad to the Bone" and in Chicago Keith Moreland used the theme from the TV show "Dallas". Trevor Hoffman had a great song and show when he came on the field to clsoe a game in San Diego.

Actually I am kinda old school in that other than when someone enters from the pen (because there is time) a walkout song is not necessary for a hitter who is on the on deck circle to go to the batter's box. A nice loud announcement of his name followed by fan cheering is better. Would be interesting to find out who was the first team that had walkout songs for hitters and the history of the hitter walkout songs. I suspect that it is post ('94) strike

I was working with an Astros affiliate in KY and we had to come up with scoreboard pictures and walkout songs for opposing hitters. One of the samples I played was

. (2:09-2:32)

One of our guys liked it, and changed it to his walkout song.

I really liked the song Rene Tosoni used last year. (I Love My Sex by Benny Benassi) Unfortunately that was usually followed by a Rene Tosoni at-bat.

Operation Sports has a forum for walk-up music mods for the Video Game MLB12: The Show.

There are different threads for different MLB teams. Users note the walk-up songs used by various players.

Coldplay! I must be getting too old...they do absolutely nothing for me. Just a bunch of Meh!

However, nice post and at least you thought it through.

I'd prefer that everyone stick to Rock/Punk/Alternative.

How about "Know your Enemy" by Rage against the machine...or "Bro-Hymn" by Pennywise

Basically, choose any song played during a MN Wild game...they got the music down.

If you're the Closer, whatever music you choose, you should also consider tacking

onto the end of it.
or, better yet... after every strike-out!

One of my buddies is adamant that our amateur team all has walk-out music. Last year, one of my mine was the beginning of this (Local and good beat factor):

This year, I think I'm going to add the beginning of this to the rotation (starting at about :12 sec in, Funny and play on words factor):

I've probably spent an entire evening listening to music to find songs for this the past 3 seasons, it's very important. I want something that amps me up and gets the blood flowing before an at-bat.
