  1. I've been waiting for Gardy to dispense with the obsession of Mauer/Morneau back to back for years. This team has far more questions than answers and spring training is your time to figure things out. However, we trotted out the same lineup and only realized that Willingham is NOT a right fielder. Have a sinking feeling that this team could look VERY different by August 1st...and I'm not sure that would be a bad thing at this point. The Twins either need to get Morneau out in the field and/or out of the 4 spot to relieve some pressure on him and get his head back in the game.
  2. Just checking to see if I can get some responses from TwinsDaily members that have accessed the Metropolitan club during the game... Been meaning to check it out and grab something to eat there, especially since we have tickets for Sunday and the weather doesn't appear it's going to cooperate. Is the food worth the $? Is the experience worth it? Curious to hear others' experiences and thoughts about the club. Thanks in advance. Go Twins!
  3. Anyone else find "Sad but True" to be rather comical...considering "Coming in to pitch...Matt Capps.." next thing you here "You know it's sad but true..." I know I had a hearty laugh on opening day hearing that.
  4. Another fine example of how it is now some sort of crime to say anything anymore. Don't agree with what he said, but sheesh...but 90% of what comes out of Ozzie's hole is just sputtering gibberish...but it is comedic Gold! Pretty boring AL central without Ozzie...miss him even more now.
  5. Coldplay! I must be getting too old...they do absolutely nothing for me. Just a bunch of Meh! However, nice post and at least you thought it through. I'd prefer that everyone stick to Rock/Punk/Alternative. How about "Know your Enemy" by Rage against the machine...or "Bro-Hymn" by Pennywise Basically, choose any song played during a MN Wild game...they got the music down.
  6. AL: W - Angels C - Tigers in a landslide E - Rays Wild Cards - Rangers/Red Sox NL W - Giants C - Brewers E - Phillies Wild Cards - Diamondbacks/Reds World Series - Angels over Phillies
  7. I'm glad to see the Twins taking a chance on some younger guys...rather than pursuing Tony Batista, Mike Lamb, etc. Pitching overall, has me very nervous...hopefully Liriano/Baker can show up this year, pretty big if IMO with 1 on the DL already. I think we have some options if Parmelee doesn't pan out. Doumit/Hughes/Mauer, maybe even Plouffe or Burroughs. Also glad Hendriks is getting a chance....hopefully he impresses and gives us an option and optimism for next year. Biggest concern is OF defense with Revere being a 4th OF. From listening to the games this spring...Willingham sounds a lot like Delmon...but as long as he doesn't run like Delmon, maybe we'll be OK. Delmon ran like his legs were bound at the knees. Overall, I just don't see how we cannot be better than last year, but we have a very tough month of April and i'm afraid a poor start will carry over into May.
  8. Games Played - Under - I'll say about 125. We have a lot of other guys to get at bats. I think your offensive stats are right in line with my expectations, with the exception of a BA north of .285. I hope we're wrong and he plays over 150 games and is the Morneau of old...the only thing i'm still worried about is the nearly instantaneous change to his status.
  9. Fenway is probably tops for me. Followed by Wrigley, Camden yards, Coors Field and Petco Park (pretty cool that you can just walk up from the street and see the game). One thing I would be sure to do is the ballpark tour if you are headed out to see another complex. I thought the Fenway tour was great, as well as the old Yankee Stadium tour. Bucket List: All of them, especially AT&T, Safeco, Busch, PNC, Comerica
  10. Going with the Indians for various reasons: Feels like if the Twins don't have a good April, they could easily fall into the funk they found themselves in last year. We will be better (how could we not be), but have a bad feeling about Morneau and the shaky pitching. Really like the Royals, but their pitching keeps them held back until next year. White Sox, I miss Ozzie already...and they will miss Quentin and Buehrle. Too many bloated contracts to make it to the top, well almost to the top. Indians seem like a pedestrian team on paper, but they played well last year and added some pitching. As long as they get some production from Sizemore and Choo, I think they will be WELL short of the Tigers, but come out of the scrum for 2nd place in the crowded AL central quest for 2nd place. Predicting the Tigers in a landslide, followed by 4 mediocre teams that will be struggling for .500 and finish within about 6 games of one another. Hope I'm wrong and the Twins end out on top, followed by a rout of the Yankees in the postseason!
