Aaron and John talk about the Twins' infuriating inability to even put up a fight during their six-week fall out of contention, the step-by-step wrecking of fan morale 10 months in the making, the long list of individual players who contributed to the collapse, and why the big-picture outlook might not be getting any rosier. You can listen by downloading us from iTunesSpotify, StitcheriHeartRadio, or find it at GleemanAndTheGeek.com. Thanks for the weekly therapy session! Definitely lots to think about and lots of fingers to point with a collapse as large as this.

loved the dialogue around cutting 30 million actually not saving anything and costing future revenue as well.

Blaming payroll is so much bullsh!t. This season was lost by the players and the players alone.

Thank god for harry’s razors. Can you imagine how bad things would be without them!!!

The Twins have tied themselves to Buxton and Correa, two guys who take up a large portion of the payroll and one gets hurt by bouncing against a padded wall and the other has a sore fore foot for two years in a row. This season loss is a player issue.

Gleeman poo pooed the Royals and Tigers for 2/3s of the season and talks up how better the Twins are? He is too much of a “homer” and really needs to adjust his perspective.

Payroll does not prevent this massive choke by the players.

Twins run like a business...a terrible, terrible business that was inherited by some moron nepo baby that doesn't understand the industry. But thanks to a legalized monopolization, they literally cannot fail.

These guys wanted to give Michael A Taylor $10 million and he was released. Santana has been such a better add to the Twins.

These guys never hold themselves accountable to how they would have run this club.  The fact is the Twins are a sh!t show and they would have been if the Pohlads are in charge, or Gleeman and the Geek are in charge.

Fire Papperesta! Twins threw the trainer under the bus a couple years ago, but Correa has had injuries the past two years. Pisses me off they sh!t on that trainer as if that was the big problem with this team. Fnckers!

What does Santana have to do with the gaping hole in CF?

Compare him to Margot. How'd that go?

I guess I am commenting on G and G disdain for Twins moves and how what they suggested would not have been better than what was done.

Well, they aren't paid to put together a roster, and the guys that are failed miserably.

Let me be clear: I am not a supporter of what the Twins ownership has done, but I am also not a supporter of those who suggest it is anyone other than the Twins players who have failed. Correa and Buxton have been really good once they came back, it is the rest of the team that has failed. The problem is Buxton and Correa take up so much payroll and do not play enough!!!!!!

Sorry for the double post.

Twins going 2 for 19 with runners in scoring position is not an ownership failing. IT IS A PLAYER FAILING.

Everyone's at fault. Nearly everyone but Jax basically.

Finally, at the 1 hour, 14 minute, 37 second part of the podcast we finally, FINALLY get to the problem.

I would love to see this list Correa submitted. Were any of them shortstops, or centerfields???????

Two more wins? We’ll see if 30 million would have been enough for two more wins. What happens when they lose by three games? They should have spent 50 million for a third game? THE PLAYERS FAILED TO WIN THE SEASON.

My guess is that the Front Office may resign to take a job somewhere else.  Ultimately the ownership defines what is "success" to the FO.  This year it was "win with less".  I doubt that is a job description that Falvey wants to have.  It was a HUGE blunder for the Twins ownership to say out loud "we are cutting payroll $30M".  That had to be a morale killer for the team.  It certainly was for the fans.  I am kind of surprised how well the team played for 3/4 of the year.

I don't suppose that the G & G boys necessarily read our comments but in the event that they do: good luck Aaron on your pending (?) back surgery. I appreciate your insights and engaging personality (and John's too of course) and I wish you all the best.
