And I don't have any particular animosity towards Baldelli, but we've seen what happens when things get stale. It took Tom Kelly NINE years to pull the team out a tailspin in 2021 and he was given the grace to retire. As much as everyone loved TK, that was wildly irresponsible. Gardenhire got four years before making a change. I don't want four years. I don't want two years.

If you can identify when things are dragging on the bottom, pull the plug and try again even if it's just to shake things up.

The difference is, the 90s teams were devoid of talent. Yes, there is only so much any manager can do when there is no talent. But TK probably did a service by managing that bunch. I would certainly think there is more talent here now than there was then. Rocco is now on year 6 and the high water mark was a wild card win. On teams that had plenty of talent. I think most people would agree he’s been given a fair shot, no? Makes sense to make a move while there is still a window open.

Those 1990's teams weren't good, but the Royals and Tigers don't look very good either. We see not-good teams pop and overachieve all the time. But in either case, yeah, regardless whether one views him as a failure or it's just a natural time to move on, it works out to the same. Time for a change.

Well Twins fans. Small consolation but I just witnessed two of the most disgusting playoff games in Orioles recent history. If we thought the Twins hitters were pathetic, the O's just trumped that. They managed 1 run (a solo HR) in the 2 games and couldn't get one single hit or productive out with RISP. Today was the cherry on top. After finally getting their only run on a solo HR by Mullins in the 5th, they then loaded the bases with none out and 3,4,5 coming up. Feeble pop up; strikeout and routine short fly. NO RUNS. Then KC comes right back next inning and scores on a two out infield bleeder that it could be argued was misplayed.

O's did absolutely nothing in their final 3 innings. O's wasted two great pitching efforts. KC only scored 3 runs...all with 2 outs BTW but were in total control the whole time.

And the cries of 'fire Hyde' are growing louder and louder. Really disappointed. O's are going after the Twins post season record for futility. They have now lost 10 straight post season games. They SO deserved to lose this series. Ugly, ugly baseball.

Thats my report. Don't know who to cheer for now. Maybe the upstart Tigers? Maybe hold my nose and hope for a Yankee-Dodger series? Don't know.
