New Fan - Help

Hello Twins fans, 

I am wanting to start following NHL more than I have in the past. In previous years, I would randomly check scores, read headlines, and maybe put a Stanley Cup game on as background noise when I was doing other things around the house. I understand hockey as a sport, but just do not know much about the NHL and their players (of course I know of the Crosbys, Ovechkins, Matthews of the league). I figure there is no other team than the Wild to start following, so what do I need to know?

What I know (I think):

Kaprizov is future of the franchise, if he's not the cornerstone already

Fleury is a good goalie

 

Please let me know any other vital information/storylines I should know about coming into this season.

Still wish the North Stars had run the table in '91 or so...
