No. They can go 7-1, run every player into the ground, and still end up playing in the first round. Get everyone healthy, line up the rotation, pitch guys on their scheduled days like it's spring training. Don't chase the fools gold. PDX Twin, Richie the Rally Goat, IndianaTwin and 6 others 8 1
Jerr Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 They did run away with their division, rest up some and play others. Everyone needs to get involved and ready! Playoffs Baby, Playoffs!!! Mortimerkenny21 1

CRF Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 The lineup isn't particularly inspiring, but not really all that surprising I guess. Sonny might have to put some zeros up there. Maybe they can surprise all of us and put a bunch of runs on the board.
Azviking101 Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I simply cannot get over how many fans on Twitter are complaining about this lineup and complaining about Rocco’s comments on resting people the rest of the season especially since correa and Lewis just hit the injured list There is virtually no chance the twins move up to the second seed. These games mean nothing. FlyingFinn and IndianaTwin 2

Think of how much better last year could have gone if they'd been able to run this level out of lineup in September. With how the Orioles have done, I'm assuming they're going to win all the "Executive of the Year" type awards, but I've been impressed all season (and offseason) with the FO's commitment to building depth. When they used the language of "sustainable," I think depth is a major part of their plan. FlyingFinn and Jocko87 2

They’re playing 3 of the worst teams in the league. They can rest people and still win most of the games. No one said forfeit. And honestly, they’re not gaining momentum that matters by playing the Angels (worst record in baseball since trade deadline), A’s one of the worst teams ever and playing in Colorado RpR 1
CRF Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Has Luplow EVER played 1B before? I honestly don't know. Not the best throw, but he fanned on that one.
Dave Borton Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Angels radio is broadcasting remotely. Good grief, what a miserable team from owner, FO, on-field and back-office. Trout has only played 82 games this year. With whom will he play next year? What a waste of 13 years.

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 So why is Keuchel still on the roster if he's hardly gotten any innings lately? How about this -- the radio guys just said that Keuchel hits his 10 years of service mark today. That's a big deal. In addition to their commitment to depth that I referenced in my previous post, I think the FO is earning and has earned a reputation for treating players well and with dignity. I'm not saying that they entered into negotiations with Keuchel this summer with a commitment to getting him to that point, but I could very easily believe that they've been talking about it along the way, saying, "Dallas, winning the division and setting up for the playoffs has to be our priority, but if we can do that and get you to 10 years of service, we're going to try our best to do that." I've worked for good employers, and I've worked for great employers. That kind of stuff on the part of an organization goes a long way in moving an organization from a good reputation to a great one, and word gets around about you as an employer. If that was at all a part of the conversations with Keuchel, kudos to them. It will be a worthwhile investment for the long term. RpR and Jocko87 1 1
