gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I doubt this happens but the Astros GM and owner went out to see Colin Moran this weekend. AL West Notes: Profar, Astros, Mariners: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com The move would make some sense, Moran is pretty young even for a college guy, and it would presumably free up a lot of money for later picks if they went the same route as last year. Moran apparently doesn't have Bryant's power but he's an on base machine. He has 52 walks to only 18 strike outs. That said, I don't know if they could pass on a top pitcher like Appel or Gray but I guess it's good to know they are at least considering it.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 The Astros doing something like this would be a dream, as it guarantees Appel, Gray, or Bryant.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Agreed, this would thrill me. If Moran and Bryant went before they pick, the Twins would have an arm that is better than any in their system, an arm that could be up in 2014 at some point.
