Just a reminder: game threads are not a dumping ground for drive by name calling and/or over-the-top negativity.

Only 2 of the 9 in the batting order aren't first year "strangers". This is one of the reasons that baseball is beoming less intersting for long time fans. 3 of 10 if we add Gray as he has been here for a while now. Julien is from the farm, but still first year. It is harder to love and get excited about your team when so many are sort of rentals and just passing through.

Yes! This is happening in other sports too. Even college pointyball.

You left out Correa .  And what did  Miranda lose wait for.?  He didn’t appear to need to.

Supposedly the gm#2 (Correa) told him he needed to come in more fit for the 162 game season. Apparently Miranda wore down towards the end of last season

I saw Grandpa Yaz play for the Minneapolis Millers at the old Met circa 1960. Just a youngen, our neighbor worked for Honeywell and got tickets like 3 rows up from the dugout.

I first started following baseball in 1967, with the great series of Yaz and Lonborg vs. Gibson and Brock.

It was fun to watch George Scott take infield practice.  He would catch throws between his legs, throw tosses to infielders over his back, etc.  He really was a slick fielding 1st baseman, and he was a big man.

A great race and all the Twins needed to do was win one of two at Fenway!

According to MLB.COM, Our pitcher's real name is Sonny. Does anyone know if that's his birth name or if he changed it? If the former, is his sister named Daughterry?

You're correct about both.

Really. Polanco out. Kepler out. Larnach and Gordon out. Those 4 would most likely be starting this game. So the only 1st years in Minnesota who would be playing tonight would be Vasquez, Gallo and Farmer

Taylor is the prototypical bottom of the order hitter. Pretty long stretches of futility and just when you think he'll never get a big hit..........he does something really good.

If this was the Twins at bat.... no problem to get out of the inning. Bases loaded and no outs. An almost sure no score set up 😇

Sonny could very well give up 3 earned now and not actually let a runner cross the plate as baseball scoring goes.....
