Just a reminder: game threads are not a dumping ground for drive by name calling and/or over-the-top negativity.

I could be wrong but I think if you take out the home runs, no Twin has reached third base in two games.

You cannot win these games with 5 or 6 hits!

Sure you can. That is the strategy. 5 homers and we win 5-4. 😇

.... and Duran gets to save it in the top of the 9th.

But Duran isn't pitching much because the set ups are losing it before the 9th. Wasn't it Andrew Miller that had that run as a "fireman" and would close or pitch multiple innings, and sometimes get brought in in the 6th or so because the bases were loaded and no outs? I think it was Miller. Duran could be that guy. And he definitely is not being overused. More like under used, holding him to close games that never get there, and then he has to pitch with a 4 run lead just to give him work! I would like to see him when he is needed to save a game. Sometimes that isn't the 9th.

Yeah the bullpen has had a tough time this month and Duran has pitched in 5 games.  5 games in all of May.

For all the criticism Rocco gets for some of his more new school managing his use of the closer role is basically from any manager 25 years ago.  Duran had one of the best reliever seasons ever last year pitching in all sorts of tough situations and now because he was good they can't use him unless it's a save situation.  There's zero creativity there.  I don't understand it.

The twins were 27-16 on May 24, 2022. They are 76-91 since then.

We are worse than last year!

By 5 games! From 11 over .500 to 1. That is sobering with all the hype.

It's not an argument and yet you continue on with your bs. Your original statement was ? baseball was losing fans because of the revolving rosters ? and to show that you cherry picked tonights lineup and showed 7 1st year Twins. The Twins have had lineups where 8 or 9, counting the starting pitcher have played with the Twins for multiple years. So your statement holds no water. If you were a fan and went to tonight's game. You may be a little disappointed. But players get injured or have days off. And today's analytics game has more to do with lineups changing as well.

OK. It is how I feel. I was just expressing myself. I thought that is what this is for. It still makes me a bit sad. Please ignore me in the future. I don't mean to upset you, and I don't mean to tell you how to feel, at all. I am glad you are OK with the present state of the game and team construction. I never said baseball was losing fans, baseball isn't losing me. I have added a couple words to the actual original statement..... hopefully that makes it better. I didn't mean to speak for all fans, but I do have some great baseball buddies that root for other teams even, and we have had a few conversations in which we all felt the same.

"Only 2 of the 9 in the batting order aren't first year "strangers". This is one of the reasons that baseball is becoming less intersting for - this - long time fans. 3 of 10 if we add Gray as he has been here for a while now. Julien is from the farm, but still first year. For me - It is harder to love and get excited about your team when so many are sort of rentals and just passing through."

No. I apologize for calling you out. No excuses

^ The larger conversation here is exactly what are the Twins telling these guys once they get them.  To be frank, the lineup has been dog!@#$ since late 2020.  All these new faces and none of them can so much as make contact.

The game was decided in the sixth. Use your best pitcher. This isn't hard.

Are we really stretching it to blaming Rocco for not using Duran in the 6th inning?  Even giving up 2 runs with the bases loaded and no outs should be considered a minor win for any pitcher.  I suppose you could say they should have gone Duran in the 7th with 2-3-4 coming up, but then what?  Jax and Pagan in the 8th and 9th?  I'm sure all the talk would be how dumb Rocco was for wasting Duran so early.

The offense needs to score more runs period.  Scoring 3 runs and hoping like hell the pitching staff can give up less runs is a pretty bold strategy.
