Steven Buhr Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Forecast is looking pretty iffy for this afternoon in Cedar Rapids. Looking at chances of very strong storms. In fact, this could be the day Iowa ends its record stretch of days without a tornado touching down anywhere in the state (currently at 359 consecutive days, I believe). Matt Tomshaw is scheduled to start for the Kernels.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Gibson rocking a no-no after 5 innings....
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Gibson still on no-hitter after 6, strikes out 2 more for a total of 6 on only 68 pitches.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 7 no-hit innings in the book for Gibson- 76 pitches.
Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Gibby ends game with CG shutout on only 93 pitches. He allowed only 3 hits. That is pretty dang impressive. Is this his last start for the Red Wings?

drjim Provisional Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 The counter is that Gibson has been inconsistent. The counter to that is that given the state of the Twins staff, who cares? Definitely worth an opportunity to see if he can give the staff a shot in the arm.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I've been one that wants more consistency from Gibson before going to the Twins. With another piss poor outing by Hernandez, I don't see any reason to leave him in the rotation while Gibson is putting up starts like this. I still want to see consistency, but I feel like he's put together enough great games to give him the nod now. He is still off and on so hopefully that can get straightened out soon. Call him up.
