Since retirement from his long, MLB career, Denny Hocking has been very involved in the game.

He has been a minor-league coach and manager. He has done some analyst work for Angels TV as well as some college baseball for ESPN.

He has helped raise three incredible athletes. He has twin daughters who were both elite, national team-level soccer players. His son committed recently to UCLA on a baseball scholarship.

Jeepers, his #7 was retired by the Twins organization just a few years ago.

Earlier this year, he was named the manager of Team USA's 18U team, and they have now won a Gold Medal.

What a great story.  Some former major leaguers sort of drift away, but then there are those like Hocking that use their MLB experience to make the world a better place and help young people realize their dreams.  Kudos to him and to TD for reporting on these human interest stories.  In this crazy world, it is great to remember the folks on the front lines making lives better.
