cHawk Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Questions for Discussion: 1. How many wins do you expect the Twins to finish with? Why? (Vote Above) 2. What is the best-case scenario for the Twins? What would need to happen? 3. What is the worst-case scenario for the Twins? What would need to happen?
ICTwin25 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 My vote was 80-84 as I think 80 wins. Best case scenario would be 88 wins and that's if Correa figures it out as well as some of the arms. Worst case scenario would be 77 wins and that's with Rocco continuing to be cute with the lineup and management of the arms. I wish I felt better about the team, but they have looked so meh since Royce Lewis got hurt

What would need to happen? 1. 82 or 83, Offense too weak and inconsistent. Pagan will come back to snatch defeat from a possible victory. Those games the inept bullpen bumbled away earlier in the season will haunt them. 2. Win the Division. Bats would have to wake up and stay woke up. 2 or 3 runs a game wont cut it. Pagan and Sano must remain out. Then they then would face the 6 seed, Probably Seattle or Tampa Bay. However I think they can win a game or two in that series. Outside chance to even win the series. Then.....Yankees and over in 4. 3. Third place. In a worse case scenario I'm thinking the Sox (ugh) win the Division and Cleveland finishes second. Doesn't matter, it is going to be win the Division or go home.

Should the Twins win the first series, they would face the 2 seed, Houston. Yanks will face winner of 4 vs 5
