Good quick listen: Doug Mientkiewicz, now managing the 12-1 Fort Myers Miracle, raves about Sano and closer Zack Jones, and states that he wouldn't be surprised to see Eddie Rosario starting at 2nd next season with the Twins...

To die-hards here, Rosario's is a household name, but playing alongside Sano, he gets less coverage in the media. Eddie would have to continue this hot streak at A+ and do the same for several months at AA (and then hit like Hicks in the following Spring Training), so while it's unlikely, it's not impossible. Anyone lucky enough to see him this March or last year with Beloit can see the potential, and personally, he's the prospect I'm most excited about.

Thoughts on Rosario or others in Fort Myers?

Can't listen to the clip, but assuming you mean offense by his "hot streak", he also needs to demonstrate he has completely mastered second base. Maybe that is Dougie Baseball's assessment, that he has already. Quick learner, if so.

Arcia was in Fort Myers at this time last year. So anything's possible. But I do think mastering the pivot at a major league level will take more than a year.

Gotta give credit where it's due, Dougie Fresh was the right hire for this group of up-and-comers. Stickler for fundamentals and grew up playing ball with A-Rod, he gives the high-ceiling prospects a good perspective on the game before heading to the next level.

Spoke very highly about his defense. Said he plays 2B like a professional. Also very high on the bat of course.

Rosie is easy going, fun loving and an all around nice guy. BTW, he's also an excellent baseball player. Most people that don't know him would consider him quiet. But after 10 weeks in Elizabethton, he not only proved himself on the baseball field but made me proud to call him "mi hijo del béisbol". Good luck Eddie! See you next March!
