lightfoot789 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 One of the better Q&A's I've read. Well done. Can't wait to see rest of interview. Did you interview Tommy and Lucas as well? or is that another time?
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 all those extra push pins reveals how serious i am. i might add 2 more. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x143/buckninetyone/JakeMauer.jpg
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Great read, Seth. Once again, fun to hear about the human (not math) side of baseball.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Thanks Seth. Glad you enjoyed your trip to CR. Really interesting to read about the other JM's thought processes. (Or is that the 3rd JM's thought processes?) P.S. If you take another trip to CR later in the season, see if you can get another shot of the bulletin board or maybe Jim Crikket can do so. I'm betting a lot of those extra push pins are in use by then).
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Awesome stuff, and appreciated that he took the time to do this.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 One of the better Q&A's I've read. Well done. Can't wait to see rest of interview. Did you interview Tommy and Lucas as well? or is that another time? Not in this format. I had a lunch with Tommy again, and we talked before and after each game. I had never met Lucas before, but he's another great guy and very knowledgeable. I interviewed him after the first game, but then just chatted more with him the other days.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Awesome stuff, and appreciated that he took the time to do this. Jake is just a terrific person, very personable, genuine, and I think he's got the appropriate mentality to be a great manager at this level (and frankly, any level). I didn't ask all the normal questions, and he didn't shy away from any of them. It was casual and I thought he did a great job. There are more interesting thoughts in part 2 that I think people will enjoy.
DAM DC Twins Fans Provisional Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 As others have said--great read--thanks so much--looking forward to part II. Debating stopping at Cedar Rapids on my summer road trip from DC to Mount Rushmore--would love to see Buxton--but I expect he will be promoted by then.
