The Hawk had a rough tenure as a member of the Twins starting rotation going 23-40 from 1997-1999. In 1999, he gave up a whopping 238 hits in only 174.1 innings (12.3 H/9) on the way to posting a very Omen-like 6.66 ERA. The Twins then sent him to the bullpen where after an inconsistent residency as the closer he found his niche as one of the A.L.'s better setup men in 2002 and 2003.
