Twins SS for Mets SP? http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/451177/report-tulo-to-mets-is-not-happening According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York the Mets are not getting Tulowitzki, and it sounds like they are looking for a trade partner for a SS. Twins aren't mentioned in the article. I don't know too much about the Mets farm system other than they have a plethora of SP arms. Sounds like an ideal trade partner for the Twins. -Danny Santana: Would fetch more on the market, but could be a building block we'd like to keep in our infield. -Eduardo Escobar: Seemingly a player without a spot in the Twins infield. Would bring a smaller return, but seems replaceable to the Twins. -Jorge Polanco: Twins would be looking for prospect SP arms. MiLB for MiLB trades are rare, so this might not have much play for the Mets. Especially since they just signed Cuddy for 2 years and appear to be going all in for the next 2 years. Thoughts?

I can't speak for other people, but the main reason I care about players' salaries is that the team only has so much money to spend. We can argue about self-imposed caps by the Twins all day long, but when it comes down to it, they only spend so much on the players. It's all about value. A team built around players earning less than they're "worth" should have money to go out and get that slugger on the free agent market. They can go get that SP that puts them over the edge. I want to have a team that's being paid $100M but WAR says should be paid $200M or $300M based on production. This year has basically been punted on, but rebuilding should mean shedding contracts that overpay (think Vernon Wells and Soriano) based on past production. Which is good for the long-term health of the organization. Then you build your nucleus by locking down consistent players for under market value, leading to an excess of money to fill out the roster with whatever you couldn't develop on the farm. Basically I care about players' salaries because i think that getting better value out of current contracts leads to more wins and the potential to fill holes. Sorry this was so basic and maybe even patronizing. I just think it's something that should be cared about and understood for everyone hoping for their team to get W's.

I appreciate the effort on these writeups, but is there a way to get the actual lineup card here? I run a Pick the Stick league here at work and those are really helpful, as I usually find the lineups here before anywhere else.

Glad to hear they're doing a follow up as well! I'm seeing this tomorrow night at St. Anthony Main. Kind of a shame it's only playing through this thursday...

Don't know if anyone noticed, but the little guy that hacked at everything just 10 short years ago is only 10 HR's away from 300 for his career. Quite the accomplishment and I for one am happy for him. He always seemed to play with a smile on his face and seemed genuinely excited to be playing here. He also did a lot for the community in his time in MN. He may have followed dollar signs out to CA, but I'll always think of him as a Twin. Proud of all his accomplishments through his career.

I'm running a pick the stick competition at work. I can't seem to find where the lineup cards can be found. Does anyone have a site that has those posted everyday as soon as they're submitted? Any help would be appreciated!
