Game Thread "Wolfgang" Twins vs. Royals 6:10 CDT 9/21/2019

[MNT1996]

How the hell is Hildenberger the next guy up after Rogers in a close game? That amazes me.

[mrtwinsfan]

We all know Hindenberg was never gonna help if we make it,   why   pleez Rocco tell us  Why?

[Richie the Rally Goat]

Oh man...

[VATwinsFan]

Might as well bring Stewart in now.

[Pius Jefferson]

This one’s easy for me. I don’t expect them to win anything in playoffs. So if they do, I’m pleasantly surprised.

I don't either. This doesn't not look like a team who can turn it on against better competition.

[bighat]

Looks like Hildy's not going to be a useful contributor to this team for the forseeable future. Too bad for the guy, hope he gets his mojo back and catches on somewhere else.

[LVTwinsfan]

I forgot how bad Hindenburger was

[IndyTwinsFan]

I'm done watching this garbage heap of a 9th inning. Thankfully, it appears as though Cleveland will lose, so the magic number will likely drop again.

The never ending inning...

[mrtwinsfan]

Good night,  better luck tomm,  HOPE

[MNT1996]

Jesus Christ, Rocco.

[Aggies7]

I honestly feel terrible for hildenberger

[LVTwinsfan]

This is how players get hurt

[Bomba2026]

They have just given up. Hustle. As Warren Sapp said You Play like a 2 Dollar bill!

[Vanimal46]

Wow... Getting sloppy.

[sampleSizeOfOne]

I wonder if we can do one of these long innings ourselves...

[IndianaTwin]

Out of town on work until Wednesday evening, so probably not, though I could make a run up on Thursday. With a 1:10 start and kids in school, I’m guessing that tickets will be available at the last minute, doncha think?

Though this inning sounds like I’m listening to a Tigers game right now.

I think Rocco figured "well, it looks like we're going to lose - let's not burn any more good arms tonight".

Rocco is pretty notorious for waving the white flag and hasn't been shy about it (last Sunday in Cleveland was a great example).

He's also pinning his hopes on Philly holding on tonight. A Philly win is as good as a Twins win right now.

[VATwinsFan]

Phillies attempting to do to Cleveland what the Royals are doing to the Twins.

8-4 Phillies.

[tvagle]

Nice to see Alcala get the 10th

[BKL]

Agree Hildenberger is bad, but Rocco put him there. I swear sometimes I think he doesn’t realize we’re in a pennant race. This thing is not locked up!

[Crackedfungo]

Hildenberger with an 85mph fastball.  Career over.  He shouldn't be back, and NO PLAYOFFS

[operation mindcrime]

DFA Hildenberger!!!!!!!!!

[MMMordabito]

Maybe this is the game where even Ted S will give up on Pinballberger.

[stringer bell]

Bring in Alacala!

[MNT1996]

I honestly feel terrible for hildenberger

I feel bad for the Twins fans that came to a game expecting a competitive team and seeing Hildenberger pitching in the 9th in a 2 run game

[operation mindcrime]

Nice to see Alcala get the 10th

Lol!

[Aggies7]

I hate when someone has it and just inexplicably loses it. I would go hide in the tunnel and sob

[LVTwinsfan]

8-4 Philly in the 9th, and the Rays win. As of now, Cleveland is out of the second wild card spot

[drock2190]

Hildy makes Romo look like a magician.
