I still want to see the Twins go the Cardinals route and bring up one of the young gun, top-20 prospect starters and let him cut his major league teeth in mostly low and middle leverage situations.

An excerpt I found stunning, it’s worded poorly, so i’ll paraphrase. Of first round draft picks from2012-18 there are 14 current mlb rotation members. 3 of them were drafted and are currently playing for the Cardinals.

 

29 other teams were successful with 11 players over 6 years and the Cards got 3 right over the same period.

 

You’re going to have more injuries to pitchers when you develop 9:1 over the rest of the league on a per team basis.

 

A pitcher can only throw so many pitches before they get injured. Better to have more of them be mlb pitches. Get the kids up ASAP.
