R. Henderson

Manny Mota (Can't remember if he was the guy with the old record)

V. Coleman

Ty Cobb

W. Wilson

Lots of more recent guys (well 80's) but I have no clue

Without looking it up, can anyone name the top 5 all time stolen base leaders in MLB history (1901 onward only)?

I know I submitted my list but I am really bummed I left my name sake off the list...he's gotta be top 5 right?

Wow, five for five, amazing. I got four but totally forgot about Raines.

I forgot Brock, got him confused with Mota, did Mota even steel bases?

I think he was known more for ironing them.  :)

Awesome trivia question.  I would have forgotten Coleman.

I would drop Mota and add Tim Raines. And then think some more. And then cheat.  (I haven't done the last two yet, but I'm about to.)

I skipped 2 and went part way to 3 - Lou Brock has to be in there, and I would probably drop Wilson.

The only base I remember him stealing is the one he took from Ron Gant.

I knew the top 3.  I guessed at the other two but figured Raines was pretty consistent and played a long time and Coleman seemed like he had a few massive years.  I doubt we will ever see yearly totals like he put up.  Different style of play now.

T. Cobb, Henderson (Oakland), Carew, Jackie Robinson, Pete Rose??

Part II of the question: the successful SB percentages of those top 5 are thus: 85, 80, 80, 80, and 75% (some rounding, but actually pretty close).

Who got the 85% success rate?

I'm pretty sure Raines has that.
