Thanks to mlb.com's Rhett Bollinger, we have the starting lineup (not the batting order) for the Twins scrimmage on Thursday against the Red Sox. Pitchers will include Scott Baker, Nick Blackburn, Liam Hendriks, Jeff Manship, Jason Bulger, Carlos Gutierrez, Tyler Robertson, Brendan Wise and Deolis Guerra.

In the field, the starters will be, "catcher J.R. Towles, first baseman Aaron Bates, second baseman Pedro Florimon, third baseman Ray Chang, shortstop Brian Dozier, left fielder Ben Revere, center fielder Joe Benson, right fielder Rene Tosoni and designated hitter Brian Dinkelman."

We're getting close!

BTCF, get real. This is a way for the Twins to look at many of the ungodly number of players that they brought to camp this year. I wonder when we will see game action from Burroughs...

I have to assume that BCTF's comment was doused heavily in some sarcasm... The purpose of b-games is just this. Lots of players and lots of pitchers need to get work.

I think the level of excitement I have for this game is probably a little alarming.

First Twins game for a while :) It IS exciting :)

And this morning, LaVelle Neal has posted the actual lineup.

Twins lineup for B game: Revere (7) Chang (4), Tosoni (9), Benson (8), Dinkelman (DH), Bates (3), Dozier (6), Towles (2)Florimon (4).

Note - I think it's just fine to be excited about a scrimmage, the first scrimmage of the year!

And from David Dorsey via Twitter, here is the Red Sox lineup, including an old Twins friend:

#RedSox lineup: SS Iglesias, RF Lin, C Lavarnway, DH Kroeger, 3B Middlebrooks, 1B Anderson, CF Repko, 2B Tejeda, LF Hassan. RHP Bard

Florimon has a real chance to make an impression.

If for some reason Yoshi would decide to head home, or the Twins give up on him, and Dozier isn't ready(tho I'd pick him first),

Florimon could step in and contribute.

Looks like it is 6-2. Do not know how the Sox scored the second run but Twins' scoring

RBI single by Benson (Tosoni scores)

RBI single by Towles (Dozier scores)

2R Homer by Bates (??? and ??? score)

2R Double by Dinkelman (??? and ??? score)

Bates' HR was off Boston lefty Jesse Carlson who was a good setup guy with Toronto esp in 2008 and sat out all of 2011 because of injuries

Deolis Guerra pitched a scoreless 9th to close the game. Twins wil 6-5 (but still bat at the bottom of the 9th so the Sox' pitcher gets his work in.) If you are interested I wrote a game recap here.

One thing I have to mention... I was utterly disappointed by the coverage of the game by the local media members who were there on their companies' cash to cover these games and report them back to the fans. And by a quick count there were at least 6 (the 5 beat writers -Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, ESPN1500, mlb.com, AP- and Souhan.)

I think that they just do not get the excitement of the fans about the beginning of a new baseball season...

Amazingly disappointed by at least a couple of them (I really have no hope from Souhan, to tell you the truth)

I agree with you, thrylos98. The good news is starting with the game Saturday, we will have radio broadcasts and even a few FSN TV games.

I agree totally its a game report it. If they think it's too much work, then quit and let some one who cares do the job. Giving batter by batter updates I suppose makes you look like a rookie. All of the "proessionals" can be replaced. All they have over the blognation is access. Eventually the teams are going to wake up and realize that the real coverage can be done by sites like Twins Daily And they all work for free and would put in much longer hours....
