Doomtints Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I have this idea, check it out. Instead of using existing pipelines for Canadian oil which already pipe raw crude to refineries in Minnesota and Washington, let's make a NEW PIPELINE that goes all the way to Houston because Houston has superior impenetrable infallible infrastructure and refine the oil there! Yes, Canadian oil is high in sulfur and needs special refineries built. Yes these refineries already exist in the west and midwest, but we can build them in Houston as well. Why not? Texas has no income tax, favorable environmental laws, and we can pay the workers less money. This is pretty effing cool. Why didn't we think of this in 1955? Now we're stuck with those icky refineries in the Twin Cities. Ugh. Liberals! No worries, we can lay them off after the pipeline is finished. What could go wrong? Let's roll!

So, it's cheaper now! And will be cheaper to rebuild after the next flood too!
