Reusse touched on a few points on why he, and Falvine, did not think the Twins were contending material even though they had remained in the WC hunt until July. To his I would add this. You're not a contender if you have no idea who is going to pitch every fifth day until you check Delta's flight schedule out of upstate New York!

I found Thad Levines radio comment on the winning streaks of Cleveland and KC interesting and pragmatic.

The Twins had a very unreal first half of the season. It was nice seeing the Twins in first place but everyone knew it was not gonna last. The Twins rotation was still 2 arms short all year with what they got from Gibson/Hughes/Santiago.

No reason not to trade away Kintzler who was going to be a free agent at the end of the season. If they want him back they can sign him this winter. The Garcia trade to NYY seems like a good return besides sending the money in the deal. As I say that it's really not that big of deal since they have held payroll back pretty much since 2012 or so.

Twins have been raking in money ever since Target Field opened and their claim they were going to put it towards payroll last 2 seasons or so. Now in the last couple of years attendance is down since they are pocketing more money and ignoring the product they put on the field. Just hope we don't have to wait for Mauer to get off the books to spend some money to compete. Won't be long before Sano needs to be signed to an extension as wel.

Why let the front office(s) off the hook with comments like this?

I'm not sure they are raking in cash the way they were, and certainly not the way they could be if they put a better product out. The sad truth is that takes time considering how ravaged this organization is from top to bottom.
