Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 Yes, 35 man limit for Short season and under while it's a 25 man limit for everything above (Low A to AAA). Yup... apparently there will be 11 more added tomorrow.

He should be given special treatment because he has a problem that MOST others don't? BS I'm sorry, but you're demonstrating a high level of ignorance about addiction, and I hope you join the rest of us and become better informed. Obviously, no one forces alcohol down the throat of an alcoholic any more than someone forced you to resist having an understanding of alcoholism as a disease. The larger point to understand is that, mirroring society, about 10% of the prospects are likely to fight an addiction. When we want to "blame" someone because a prospect failed, or when we're pleasantly surprised sometimes with a prospect that had a breakout season, it could be a function of either succumbing to or overcoming a problem that perhaps most of us never have to face. And Booser isn't being given special treatment. He's being suspended for 50 games. You want a harsher punishment, and I'd personally deem that punishment to be cruel. Where's your compassion? nytwinsfan Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Akil Baddoo is proof that no matter how much you scout prep players for the draft you can never really be sure what you have. Baddoo was drafted as top of the lineup burner due to his plus speed and quick hands. Since being drafted, Akil has put on nearly 20 pounds and almost all if it is muscle. The good that comes with that is extra power but the bad is that he often gets pull happy and tries to drive the ball instead of just making contact and using his still plus speed. Defensively, Akil has what scouts call a "noodle arm", it's below average and despite his speed he doesn't run the cleanest routes. I've seen him make spectacular plays in CF/RF that a normal defender makes look easy. Still there is alot to like about the kid and plenty of time to hammer out his kinks. Here's a couple of pics of him: Ok, in light of all that it makes a lot more sense why he's not at Elizabethton. Still sounds like he has a lot of upside though. Thanks as always or the detailed info Bob. bird, hugelycat, Mike Sixel and 1 other 4

Jax is a big wildcard for the Twins. He might be a waste of a $1M drafting bonus and not pitch an inning for them based on his personal dual career choices.

He might be a waste of a $1M drafting bonus and not pitch an inning for them based on his personal dual career choices. Jax got a free education from a U.S. service academy. Whoever drafted him thinking he could get an exemption from the obligation that goes with that because he plays baseball should reexamine his thought processes. He might also want to dig a little into baseball history and review the stories of players like DiMaggio, Williams, Feller, Greenberg and Mays.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 The number 1 overall pick can't even make this roster......Nice sarc, I presume?

If you haven't ever been in an addict or alcoholics shoes, just don't comment.
