Finding Supplementary Veterans for the Twins

Coghlin or Davis and possibly Aybar are the guys I'd look at.  Anyone picked up needs to know how to play defense.

If they keep Santana, which I think they will, I'm not so sure they need another vet starter.  Santana, Berrios, Mejia, Gibson, Santiago.  I've heard reasonable reasons for May in the rotation or in the pen.

I think the correct response to this is - NO.  If they want veteran presence sign a big name with big talent or else struggle through another year with the young players.  It is not the team on the field that is the problem - it is the pitching and as far as I can see there are no veterans worth chasing to fill positions on the mound.

I get what you are saying about signing a veteran, but there's another half to the equation.  What veteran will want to come to the Twins?  Sure, if you throw enough money at them, but I think we are hoping for a buy low guy.  In that case, we are left with the desperate leftovers and if that's the case, I'd roll with what we have.

Well, Jason Castro did?
