Cespedes re-signs with Mets

Per Ken Rosenthal on Twitter, the deal is expected to be 4 years, $110 million. 

Turned out to be a good gamble from Cespedes to opt out of 3 years $75 MM left on his other contract to get another year, and additional cash on top of that.

Wow, 27.5m/year for his age 31-34 seasons.  I think that's a fair (market) deal but he has some warts on him and this could blow up on the Mets.  

 

Salaries are getting a lot bigger.  The Pohlad family isn't going to be thrilled in a few years.

I'd be happy if the Twins traded for the young OF, who might or might not be good.....but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

They'll likely trade Bruce.  De Aza isn't much.  They'll be a bit screwed in CF but it'll probably be a Cespedes/Granderson/Conforto OF.
