Must nor have been clear - screw the caveats. Incorporate the flaws BEFORE you use the stat. Like, for example, before you quote it about a DH.

How can I believe someone takes those caveats seriously when their use of the stat contradicts it? Seems doubtful you take those limitations seriously if you ignore them but for some meaningless caveats.

I assume WARheads is some kind of term of endearment?

so, every time I use WAR, I need to type how many caveats and other things? Just curious....so if I use it, I use it correctly.....

Why don't you try it for a while?  See what happens.

WAR for a DH - I literally could not have come up with a better example of the irrelevancy of caveats if you can't think, for two seconds before you post it, that you may not be using the best metric for your argument.  And you used that very example in the last few hours Mike.  And you weren't alone.

That, right there, is the problem.  WAR is the default and too little thought is put into the idea of "does it apply to this situation"  or, better yet, "might it NOT apply in this situation"

I want you to APPLY the caveats. Not just say them.

I did ask, in that thread, for other stats to use....didn't I?

How should I measure his value, exactly?

You asked AFTER you already used the stat.  If you took the caveats seriously, wouldn't you have asked yourself that question before you used it?
