Official Trevor Hildenberger Fan Page of Twins Daily for the 2016 Season: (It is a long title, but his last name does not exactly help.)

Trevor switched to being a sidearmer later in his career, and the move has paid off for the Twins 2014 22nd round pick, who rarely walks batters, and strikes out about 1 batter per inning.

AA stats are crazy good. 38.2 innings pitched, 0.70 ERA, 10.5 K/9, 1.4 bb/9. His WHIP IS 0.698. These numbers match or exceed his career minor league numbers.

2016 Summary

After a brief bit of dominance in Fort Myers, Hildenberger was promoted to AA.

38.2 AA innings pitched, 0.70 ERA, 45 strikeouts, six walks (10.5/1.4), 0.698 WHIP

In 141 minor league innings across three seasons, he has a 1.41 ERA, 165 strikeouts, 18 walks (10.5/1.1), 0.823 WHIP, and has given up only three homers.

2017 Outlook

Hildenberger will be part of the next wave of relievers to come out of the bullpen, er, he will be part of the first wave in quite some time, that is. I imagine he will start in the AAA bullpen with Burdi, Melotakis, Reed, and maybe even Chargois. Trevor throws around 90 with a big sinking fastball and has a good changeup . . . but he also throws basically sidearm for the vast majority of pitches and this creates all sorts of problems for hitters. He will appear for the Twins in 2017.
