Why did Buxton just leave the Rochester game in the 5th?

He just left the game in the top of the 5th. Seems likely he's either injured or being called up. Hope its the latter, although that would clearly be surprising I think. Anyone know anything?

Here is the answer:

Doesn't sound good . . . what would cause that? I have gotten back spasms once or twice from too much yoga, and I'm in mediocre shape. Shouldn't happen to a guy in his shape unless he landed in a strange way or something.

I get back spasms pretty frequently. Anything can cause them - pulled muscle, twist the wrong way, cold and/or damp weather.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it lands him on the DL, then it could be cause for some concern. Not necessarily that he's got a back injury, but that he once again couldn't remain healthy for more than a couple of months.

At least we know someone who is very healthy.

JT Chagois- 2IP 0 BB 5 K.

He's struck out 7 in 2.2 AAA IPs so far, and he's apparently throwing his good heat.

I'd like to see Buxton dominate the league before he's recalled again. He's doing well (BA over .300, some XBHs and less Ks), but I wouldn't call it dominant. Let Danny Santana play center for a couple more weeks or a month. The season has blown up already. Do what's right for a bright prospect's future.

I'm OK with keeping Buxton in AAA a bit if there is a plan for Danny Santana. He's been hitting again and though he probably has little trade value on his own, if he keeps hitting, he might be a good complementary price to add if the team is trying to move a difficult to trade starter.

The only reason I would consider getting him back up sooner is his defense.

This OF defense is so bad, I think it has a negative mental effect on the pitching staff.

This seems to be the year of the "displeasured pitcher reaction shot" from the FSN camera-man. I don't remember ever seeing more Twins pitchers' grimaces and groans - more  than even in the days when Willingham, Doumit, Thomas, Komatsu, Colabello and Young were roaming in the outfield.

I'm guessing swinging and missing a lot is pretty similar to yoga.......
