But 2014 Danny Santana showed that babip luck can last quite a long time in baseball.

It's my belief that is what we are seeing from Nunez right now.

There's a reason the team doesn't think he can stick at short. Tonight is the first time he started there, and they've had ample opportunity to play him there and just haven't. 

 

Maybe this is just groupthink. Plus, if Polanco can't stick at short, then why is he around at all. It will be the Plouffe/Sano situation all over again, since Dozier's got second locked up and Escobar and Nunez can also fill in there.

 

Polanco can play short until the fans see that he can't--that's the position I'm taking

 

Polanco had a half dozen chances tonight and did fine. One of them was a highlight reel play.
