sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The "What have i missed." Game Thread intro... The passed week, i've missed a couple of possums, i think, a rabbit, a few exits and turns, and happily every other vehicle or obstacle in the road. Sadly i have missed a few of my predicted arrival times as well, but getting enough sleep in driving cross country is kinda non negotiable. Oh, and i guess i missed the instructions on how to keep a plant happy on long road trips. Oh well. I really meant to ask it specifically about the Twins. Who are swinging hot bats, flashing the leather, throwing heat? I kinda been out of touch, and don't know. As usual i seek to hide my inadequate research habits with clever wordplay or cultural references, and long hours on the road, one can go off the deep end thinking of these... If anyone makes a recipe for baseball, might it taste better with a pinch of hitting, and a dash of base running? What would the Wodehouse Blues sound like? Why does a page need to refresh? And will it finally have the Twins lineup on it? (Finally, an answer!) anyway, weather: TodayA slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. South wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. lineups: Twins 1. Jorge Polanco (S) 3B2. Brian Dozier (R ) 2B3. Joe Mauer (L) 1B4. Miguel Sano (R ) RF5. Eddie Rosario (L) LF6. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS7. John Ryan Murphy (R ) C8. Ricky Nolasco (R ) P9. Byron Buxton (R ) CF Brewers 1. Domingo Santana (R ) RF2. Scooter Gennett (L) 2B3. Ryan Braun (R ) LF4. Jonathan Lucroy (R ) C5. Chris Carter (R ) 1B6. Aaron Hill (R ) 3B7. Ramon Flores (L) CF8. Taylor Jungmann (R ) P9. Jonathan Villar (S) SS Alright, have a good game! Sadly i am running late for my next appointment... Oh yeah, on the road i passed a jeep towed by an rv. On the spare tire cover on back of this jeep, it said "Fueled by Optimism" It must have been an omen, or sign. But not a road sign, i know what those look like. I suppose it could also have been a symbol or perhaps a metaphor, but that would take literary effort on my part.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Pitcher batting eighth? Molitor is getting all sabrmetrical and stuff.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Pitcher batting eighth? Molitor is getting all sabrmetrical and stuff. He sure is! Other than that whole batting a .290 OBP, .599 OPS hitter second thing...
70charger Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Is there some kind of delay? The scheduled start was nearly half an hour ago and all I'm getting on mlb.tv is "Stay Tuned; this game will begin shortly."

Note that we're today's free game of the day on mlb.tv, although I think local blackout rules still apply to most readers here. <gloat>

I can never remember how many hours away from Minnesota I am, and then mlb.tv does me a solid and lists in EST without my noticing. Ah well. That explains that.

Sad day in the music world.I've sometimes remarked that there have been three quintessential Minnesotans who only required one name: Hubert, Harmon and Prince. Sad that we've now lost all three.

70charger Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Polanco's off to a good start. He just will not be pushed around in the big leagues, will he?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 There's a possibility that 2009 will go down as the greatest international signing period for any team ever.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Did I hear Bert's description of Jungmann correctly? 6'6" 110 lbs
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The stats guy for FSN says Polanco is 0/1. I'm glad they're paying attention in the booth.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Oh well done Dozier, well done. Great idea to swing at that pitch.
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Oh well done Dozier, well done. Great idea to swing at that pitch. He seems lost right now.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 He seems lost right now. Did he get a haircut?
davidc3915 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 As I live in Chicago, the free game of the day is most helpful and appreciated! Students will be working in small reading groups in any moment......
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Did he get a haircut? Nah, it looks bigger than ever. Maybe he needs to borrow Ervin Santana's clippers. Try something. Anything.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Sano has got to stop doing that
70charger Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 1. That looked like a ball to me. 2. Sano showing some serious attitude there. Don't want that to come back and bite you.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 If we could hit with bases loaded....we'd be good
