Plouffe is not a real option at SS, 2B, Cf. I think it's fair to say he's also not a real option in LF or RF either, because if he was he would be playing it on Opening day for the Twins

No sarcasm...Santana improved his BA by .044; his OBP by .046; his SLG by .101; and his OPS by .147.

That is a HUGE improvement.

Sorry I gotta go with spring stats = small sample size (56 AB) = meaningless. It would be nice if it translates to in-season numbers, but based on Santana's overall minor and major numbers, I can't buy into it.

 

But since it's spring and hope springs eternal, I'll compromise and hope that it indicates some fundamental change in Santana's hitting prowess. My hope expires on May 1 though.
