MiLB.com posted its Twins minor league all star team today. No huge surprises, but there are some good, interesting comments from Brad Steil on several of the players. It's a fun read.

2B - Luis Arraez

3B - Miguel Sano

SS - Jermaine Palacios

OF - Max Kepler, Byron Buxton, AB Walker

DH - Reynaldo Rodriguez

RP - Trevor Hildenberger

On Palacios: "He'll run better as he gets older and stronger." Kind of an odd comment. Don't know if I ever heard a player singled out in quite that way before.

Any insights on Arraez? I don't think he shows up on anyone's prospect list.

I think I had him in the 40s in my top 50 last month. But, he's worth watching. Little, slap hitter at this point, but he's young. Worth watching.

Yeah, I thought that was an interesting comment. He is fairly thin but growing into his body. I don't know if that means increased speed or not. Ha!

Adam Brett Walker II, Chattanooga (133 games): With Walker -- now a three-time Organizational All-Star -- you know what you're going to get. First, tons of power, as evidenced by his 31 homers, which beat out all Double-A competition by 10. (He also finished third in the Minors with 106 RBIs.) Second, tons of strikeouts, as evidenced by his Minors-high total of 195, which result in a typical low average (.239). Still, the Twins and Walker know if he can hone his approach, then he could become a feared middle-of-the-order bat at the game's highest level.

It says something to me that Walker is a 3 time Organizational All-Star and has played in more games than any prospect in that time frame.  Durability doesn't get enough credit to me.  You know what your getting for a season with Walker - Good or Bad.  He is the most consistent (unconsistent) player in the system :).  Numbers are always the same, including % of games played per year.

He's on the back end of my list.  He's a bit younger than Palacios and didn't do quite as well, but still did quite well in rookie ball.

I've been putting together a ranking and have him in the low 30s right now.  He seems to have really good plate discipline and contact ability.  I wouldn't expect him to have much power at this point, so we'll see what happens there.  His K rate was a bit more than half of the next qualified batter in the GCL.  That's pretty impressive.

Almost every position on this team is filled by a prospect who is pretty exciting for one reason or another.  Good reason for optimism
