gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Today is give to the max day to support our local chapter of the ACLU. The MN ACLU has been a great organization that has recently worked hard on the Vote NO! campaigns, prominent supports of LGBT rights - in fact, the ACLU MN brought forth the very first right to marry case! The ACLU MN works on racial discrimination, privacy rights and first amendment issues. To support, you don't even have to donate money - all you need to do is share one of their many facebook posts (or tweets) today about "give to the max." Every time you share a post, a donor will give $10 to ACLU MN. https://www.facebook.com/aclumn/?fref=ts Thanks!
jimmer Verified Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I don't do facebook and I certainly don't tweet, but I've been supporting (contributing money) to the ACLU since I was in high school (most recently the San Francisco chapter), and will continue to do so. They have been strong supporters for many great causes, LGBT being just one of them. After I convinced my parents to move from a city in California because more than one local resident expressed they 'loved the area they lived in because no black families lived in the area', I said when I started making money, I'd donate to organizations against discrimination of all types.. ACLU being one of those organizations that I still contribute to.
