D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Doilies and applique art were huge once. I think that was partially due to the fact we were in the 4th 90 loss season and people's minds went to some very dark and unlikely places. I am not sure it is safe to revisit some of those threads and their topics.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 By the way, happy Autumnal Equinox. I plan to follow the ancient Druidic ceremony; drink wine, eat pie, take naps. I intend to sacrifice a goat to the baseball gods!
tharasix Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Houston lost, so now the Twins are in full control of their own destiny as far as the second wild card goes. If they win out, they're in, even if it takes a game 163 against Houston.

drock2190 Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 What should we be more worried about? Phil Hughes pitching or the Twins hitting versus Kluber?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 ... sampleSizeOfOne - Contrary to his name we have been given a large sample, and both he and we must like it, because he has been one of the most active GT posters this season, and for the most part they have been right up there with Riverbrian's, but not quite. ... A gee, shucks. t'ain't nuttin'. I'm just glad to enjoy this game (and thread). Everybody grab an oar! (or keyboard/touch screen/voice-text software/input device of choice)

If they win out, they're in, even if it takes a game 163 against Houston. If Houston wanted to push things just a little they could get three games from Keuchel in their last 9, or at the very least have him for a game 163. Those couple off days really help. Twins have wall-to-wall games
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 These sports trivia things on the sidebar are great, until they start asking about track and field. I have no idea who holds the record in the wheelbarrow race or what the time was, c'mon!
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Who's Sophie??? TC's Mom -- she was in the woods with her twin cubs when she confronted by trappers who made her choose which cub would remain with her free in the wild and which one would end up coming with them and have to live a life doing stupid pet trips while wearing a stupid grin. With great anguish and a Polish accent she told them to take TC. There is a plaque telling the story in the Legend's Club. Sad story.

Hope it isn't that bad down in the cities. I think we're missing a narrative opportunity rarely used in baseball. It was a Dark and Stormy Night as Phil Hughes took the mound. (Someone else can continue it...)

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I voted for ChiTown because I gotta keep her on my side. She's a make things tick gal. With those strict HOF vote percentage guidelines. The way the poll is going. It looks like we are all going to be Bert Blyleven'ed. Another thought... Where will the hall be built? I'm thinking Brainerd or Dyersville Iowa.

No one told me i would be graded on length... Some day, i'm gonna match that. But if i do, it'll be in one long sentence... A subtle/shallow criticism of the Twins battery: run on.
