John Bonnes Site Manager Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 People seem awfully excited about a 25-year-old who has a half season of AA ball under his belt. Is it the AFL performance that is generating it, or are we all just rooting for a geek. I gotta say, geeks don't have a great track record with this coaching staff....
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Clearly they are not going to work a trade with the White Sox for him, so I would expect him to make the team unless he is bad in ST. But yeah, he is a bit old for AA.
Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 The White Sox obviously took the slow boat route with him, starting him in the Appy League with a bunch of 18 year olds even though he was a 22-year-old college graduate. By comparison, the Twins seem to start most of their college grad pitchers in Ft Myers (high-A). Carlos Gutierrez, Alex Wimmers and Kyle Gibson all started at high-A ball.

Billy Amick Wichita Wind Surge - AA 1B/3B Despite hitting just .194, the 23-year-old ranks fourth in the Texas League in Home Runs (17) and sixth in RBI (50). Explore Billy Amick News >
