DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 With the Twins 2 games up in the wild card, but teams closing fast, these next 16 games are extremely important for the Twins to stay ahead of the pack in the Wild Card race. The next 16 feature very winnable games and 4 against the Blue Jays who most likely will be the Twins toughest competition for the 2nd wild card spot. Let's take a look at the schedule:3 more at home vs Seattle4 at Toronto3 at Cleveland3 home vs Texas3 home vs Cleveland. I predict the following:Twins win 2 of next 3 vs Seattle.Twins split vs Toronto2 of 3 at Cleveland2 of 3 vs Texsa3 game sweep of Cleveland. That would give them an 11-5 record which I admidt is pretty freaking optimistic. I think 10-6 is the goal, and anything less than 9-7 would be a pretty massive disappointment, especially if they lose 3 or 4 against Toronto. The schedule gets tougher torwards the middle and end of the month with 3 at NYY (1st place AL East), 4 at Baltimore (2 games behind Minnesota), 3 at TB (with Hu on the mound), then three at home vs Houston. Predictions?

JaleelWhite FanClub Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 The freefall has already begun. God, they almost got no-hit tonight. Split the next two vs. SEA. Lose 3 of 4 in TOR and so on and so on.
Kwak Verified Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 You are wildly optimistic--this isn't May anymore. Game 2 vs Sea has been lost. I think the next two are split 1-1. Toronto is normally a butt-kickin'--even when the Twins have a "better team"--1-3. At Cleveland, these games will be tough! CLE has good starters (not much else) but by then the Twins won't "have the WC" anymore and a funk may begin series divides 2-1 and I think it will go 1W and 2L (on the road you know, twins aren't road warriors. The six game homestand Twins at best 4-2, but 3-3 is quite likely. 7-9 is probable and far worse is more likely than far better.
