jimmer Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 While I think this is a great move by Toronto for obvious reasons, I worry Tulowitzki will decline more quickly than necessary by playing 81 games on turf. It's the right move because Toronto absolutely hosed the Rockies but it's not the optimal result for Tulo.Turf isn't as bad as it used to be. Also, Tulo has had groin problems caused by steeping on wet grass to plant and then slipping back and extending his groin. That park will help with that and he can DH on occasion if he starts to feel it. On the face of the trade, it was horrible for the Rockies, and great for Toronto, but let's see what they do with Reyes.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reyes was a guy with one plus tool (speed,) a decent hit tool (lots of IF singles) and a decent power tool (driven by doubles and triples mainly, but some gap HR power.) And then he started hurting himself. I am looking at players like Reyes, and that's why Buxton scares me.I don't want Reyes. The Twins already have a younger version...
