Oh, so this is a hypothetical article, got it.

It's a direct, not "hypothetical" response to the irrationally negative Twins fans that I encounter every day mostly online, but also offline; those fans who A ) As Charlie said, are more interested in being right than watching a team succeed, or B ) Are doomsayers no matter what.

To me, there's a big difference between them and the thoughtfully critical fans who express their point of view on ways the club can minimize flaws, maximize strengths, or potentially make calculated moves to improve our chances to win ahead of schedule.

I love those people, and it looks like Twins Daily is full of them—so I'm happy to start talking baseball with you folks.

I wouldn't use it.  I'm not afraid of other people expressing their opinions, even if they disagree with mine. We are all Twins fans and should have the right to be fans the way that works for us without being ignored or slammed for it as long as we are civil about. I always try to be, but admittedly, I don't always succeed in portraying that civility properly.

Debating/discussing the issues on this team, whether it be in good times (which we all enjoy, BTW) or bad times, should be encouraged.

Agreed.

I think it's kind of funny that this was written and published right before the Twins lost two-in-a-row to Boston lol I'm sure that "losing streak" caused some to turn pessimistic, especially considering the incredible winning run they were on.
